Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS)
This is conducted under the federal guidelines of the U.S. Economic Development Administration Reform Act of 1998 (US EDA); allowing for federal funding assistance to be applied for once the CEDS is approved.
The purpose of the CEDS is to establish a process that will help create jobs, foster more stable and diversified economies, and improve living conditions. The CEDS committee includes representatives from: local government; economic and business development organizations, including chambers of commerce, labor, finance, and utility companies; the employment and training sector; community organizations; as well as women and minorities.
